THE SPANISH ACADEMY CIUDAD VIEJA ANTIGUA GUATEMALA

   The health Unit is a Small local public clinic for running vaccinations programs for children and adults, first aid, health care, consultation, and dental care. 

One of the goals is to bring down the high child mortality rate, where diarrhea and stomach problems are among the worst issued to deal with.   

 This is a charity hospital with a nursing home section and is located in Antigua. They provide medical services to very income low families. They are always in need of volunteers to help patients with basic needs. 

 This organization is better known as “The Macadamia nut Plantation” and it is located between Ciudad Vieja and San Miguel Dueñas. They are devoted to plant macadamia nut trees for reforestation to reverse global warming, assist indigenous people in developing self-sustaining agriculture, and educate the public about the environment. 

Volunteers are needed to help them to run the site; from caring the seedlings to harvesting, and also processing the macadamia nuts. 

This organization is located in Ciudad Vieja and they provide educational and psychological assistance to families affected by domestic violence and alcoholism. Volunteers in psychology, social work, and teaching backgrounds preparation are needed to help women and children.

 This Health Unit in Antigua Guatemala is our new partner in accepting our students/visitors  in the health area for clinic service. 

Our students will help our local community while supervised by the M.D. in charge of the A.M or P.M. shift. 

It is a great opportunity for our students to put their Spanish skills in action while getting reinforce skill  with our learning lesson in our School to provide better service for our local community.
